Rumors of a Phish 3D Film Finally Come True

Back in late October during Phish’s latest festival, Festival 8, tweets and blogs were coming in left and right with content suggesting that the band was filming with special 3D cameras the entire weekend.

According to Alex Young of Consequenceofsound.com, the project has finally come to fruition, and the film will likely be released in April 2010. Whether it will be a wide release will remain to be seen.

Young cites in his piece a Twitter account, Facebook account and an official website as even more proof.

Supposedly a 15-second trailer will be shown before all Alice in Wonderland 3D showings, but I can’t comment on the authenticity of that as I haven’t seen the film or heard any first-hand reports on what the trailer entails.

Films like this have been made before. Think U2 for example. But does any band and any festival fit the mold as well as Phish? I don’t think so.
